Abell QA Team are expert speakers at upcoming GFTC course
On November 13, 2008 Abell Quality Assurance Team members Steven Graff and Dusana Bondy will be expert speakers for the "Pest Control and Management, Part 1: Standards and Regulations for the Food Industry" course held by The Guelph Food Technology Centre (GFTC).
Course description: Does your existing pest management program meet your expectations? Pest infestations prove costly for businesses. Pests not only damage and contaminate food, but also cause disease and damage cables and wires thereby damaging equipment. An effective pest control program will ensure that your food products are protected from pests. This is possible through a written procedure describing pest control and monitoring procedures, along with the records that detail the on-going monitoring systems. With industry experts from Abell Pest Control Inc., this one-day workshop will help you challenge your existing Pest Management programs to upgrade them and reduce potential pest infestation risks. This program will cover: management strategies for different pests and environments; methods for quickly regaining control of pest management in food manufacturing plants and distribution centers; regulations, guidelines and standards for effective pest management; pest control in an organic environment; and the role of sanitation in pest management.
