Green Services

To properly understand the concept of "green" pest control, it is important to learn about more "traditional" pest control procedures.

Traditional pest control treat pest problems with the fastest and most convenient methods such as generalized chemical spraying and usually using the most toxic pesticide. This type of procedure does not resolve the issue as to why or how the pest infestation occurred in the first place - which usually results in a re-infestation.

Integrated Pest Management

(IPM) is a preventative approach to pest control and is based upon the philosophy that chemical control should be limited and used only as a last resort. This approach effectively replaces traditional pest control methods and requires detailed inspections, thorough structural awareness, knowledge of pest biology and habits, and good sanitation practices.

Extreme Green Program

In response to increasing public demand for sustainable and environmentally responsible practices, Abell Pest Control has launched the Extreme Green Program. Abell’s Extreme Green Program is an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) process – an environmentally responsible approach to managing pest problems – applied at its highest level.

In the Extreme Green Program, Abell elevates its IPM process to a new level by giving a preference toward natural pesticide as opposed to synthetic pesticide when pesticide is deemed necessary. For example, when dealing with a Pavement ant issue, based on our regular IPM program, our PMP may choose to apply a synthetic pyrethroid to solve this problem.
